Christmas fairs near Wokingham 2026: Winter Carnival 29 November, Twyford Fayre 4 December, Dinton Festive Fair 5 and 6 December, Woodley 6 December. All free.

Wokingham borough does not have a chalet-style Christmas market that runs for weeks. What it has instead is a run of one-day and weekend fairs, all free to enter, that fall inside eight days from the end of November: the Winter Carnival’s 150-plus stalls in Wokingham town centre on Sunday 29 November, Twyford’s street fayre on Friday 4 December, a new-look Festive Fair Weekend at Dinton Pastures on 5 and 6 December, and Woodley’s Christmas Extravaganza on Sunday 6 December. Every date below was confirmed on the organiser’s own website on 25 September 2026.

Wokingham Winter Carnival, Sunday 29 November

The borough’s biggest Christmas shopping day is the Lions’ carnival: the town centre shut to traffic from 10.30am to 5.30pm, more than 150 stalls, and the town’s lights switch-on as the finale. Stallholder places for 2026 were full by the start of September and the Lions are running a waiting list (Wokingham Lions). Our Winter Carnival page has last year’s printed programme and the road closures, and the lights switch-on page covers the other four switch-ons in the borough.

Twyford Together Christmas Fayre, Friday 4 December

Twyford’s fayre takes over London Road from the crossroads at Bell Corner to Jubilee Corner, with the street closed to traffic, from 6pm to 9pm on Friday 4 December 2026. Twyford Together, the volunteer group that runs it, describes stalls from local residents, craftspeople and shops, mulled wine and mince pies, fairground rides, a climbing wall, the 1st Twyford Scouts’ barbecue, jugglers, a brass band, school choirs, and a visit from Father Christmas courtesy of Twyford and District Round Table. It is always the first Friday of December (Twyford Together). Stall bookings go through the same page.

Festive Fair Weekend at Dinton Pastures, 5 and 6 December

This is the new one. Wokingham Borough Council’s countryside service listed a Festive Fair Weekend at the Dinton Activity Centre on 21 September 2026: Saturday 5 December from 10am to 3pm and Sunday 6 December from 11am to 3.30pm, with gift stalls, a festive barbecue, drinks and sweet treats, live performances, children’s rides and a visiting elf. Entry is free on the day. Santa’s Grotto runs alongside it from the Activity Centre and has to be booked, for children only, arriving 30 minutes early for a crafting session (Wokingham Countryside, Festive Fair Weekend). Parking at Dinton is pay and display. Grotto detail and what it cost last year is on our Santa’s grotto page.

The Activity Centre is also selling real Christmas trees from local supplier Needlefresh every Saturday and Sunday from 21 November, with out-of-hours collection by arrangement (Festive Season at Dinton Pastures).

Woodley Christmas Extravaganza, Sunday 6 December

Woodley Town Council lists its Christmas Extravaganza for Sunday 6 December 2026 in the town centre, organised by the town centre manager, with festive stalls, activities and a possible appearance from Father Christmas. No start time is published yet (Woodley Town Council). The Carol Concert and Lights Switch On is the Saturday before, 28 November, also without a published time (Woodley Town Council). Last year the council made bus travel free on the extravaganza weekend; see our Christmas travel page for what is and is not announced for 2026.

Craft and workshop dates at Dinton

The countryside service’s own festive programme, all bookable through its events pages:

  • Christmas wreath making, Thursday 26 November, 6.30pm, £65, in the Coffee Deck with Polly’s Garden florist, welcome drink and mince pies included (listing).
  • Fused glass Christmas decorations, Thursday 3 December, 7pm, £35 a person, two decorations, suitable for pre-teens upwards (listing).

What is not confirmed

  • A Cantley Park Christmas market. Third-party listings sites repeat a December market at Cantley Park from previous years. No organiser has published a 2026 date, and the park’s buildings and pitches passed to the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire FA in August 2026 (council news). We will add it if an organiser announces one.
  • Times for both Woodley events and the stage programme for the Winter Carnival.
  • Sindlesham and Holme Grange craft fairs, which have run in past years but have no 2026 date published by the venues.
